Comparison:

1. The camera work is a lot more advanced in His Dark Materials compared to Doctor Who with a variety of different angles like establishing shots and birds eye view 

2. Doctor Who and His Dark Materials have similar themes relating to travelling between dimensions and improbability. Whereas His Dark Materials is a fantasy genre correlating with the supernatural, Doctor Who is a Sci-fi genre correlating with scientific discovery 

3. There is a much more diverse cast in His Dark Materials in the form of Ruta Skardi, Will and Lee Scoresby, however Doctor Who only has a white cast due to the normalised racism during that time
